Urban Design with Nature Sharing Good Practice

Urban Design with Nature

Wednesday 21 February 2018 – SNH, Battleby Conference Centre, Perth

Organised by Scottish Natural Heritage in partnership with ERZ Studio, WSP, and Glasgow City Council this free event is for urban planners, designers, architects, landscape architects, developers, contractors, engineers, house builders and social housing providers, local authorities, and relevant public sector representatives.

This interactive event is all about integrating multi-functional green infrastructure (GI) into urban design, planning and delivery and offers a range of sustainable, future-proof solutions and benefits for people and nature.

Green infrastructure helps our urban areas be more resilient and adapt to climate change, reduce energy consumption, mitigate flooding, and improve air quality. These nature-based solutions promote active living, facilitate health and well-being, provide homes for wildlife, and transform our towns and cities into more enjoyable, attractive places to visit, live, work and play in.

This event will explore a range of forward-looking policy, strategic, and project-level approaches and expertise across a range of themes including:

-              Economic drivers for urban GI

-              Conditions for good integrated GI design

-              Integrated GI in masterplanning

-              International and UK case studies

-              Urban GI and city planning

-              Adaptation and retrofitting
